Throughout 2016, the SCWS series has celebrated its 10th year in the making. This year’s theme, “Commercializing the Mobile Edge,” is relevant to the new deployments, business models and service opportunities available in small cells industry, including the introduction of MulteFire technology. If you haven’t had the chance to attend one of the SCWS World Series events, I encourage you to check out the last one for this year – SCWS Americas, taking place Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Fairmont Dallas, TX. This event unites the small cells, Wi-Fi, DAS and backhaul ecosystem under one roof, exploring deployment scenarios of each technology and how they can best work together. Attendees span from carriers, neutral host providers, system integrators, OEMs, as well as end users from enterprise, transit, real estate, smart cities and hospitality.

picture4Rasmus Hellberg joined Qualcomm in 2006 and leads Qualcomm’s corporate technical marketing team that drives Qualcomm’s visions for future technologies, such as the wireless evolution, the path to 5G and the evolution of mobile computing. Rasmus has spent 20 years in the wireless industry and started his career in product management, working on the Japanese PDC system, the first commercial WCDMA products, and later on CDMA2000 1X and EV-DO focusing on radio access network products. Rasmus holds a Ph.D. in electromagnetic wave propagation and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Stockholm, Sweden.
